Accelerate your BI projects with Agile
2022TL; DR
In this session, we will go through agile principles to understand how it can help us do better BI Projects
Session Details
IT projects and BI projects, in particular, are often planned towards technical challenges. What sources do we need to connect with? What systems and technologies will we deploy? What data model should we aim for? What tables to include?
In my experience, these are all very valid prerequisites for project success, but it rarely covers what I believe constitutes 90% of a successful IT project; User research, experiments, feedback, and iterations.
Having worked with agile for several years in IT projects outside Business Intelligence, I have felt in first-person how dynamic, proactive and smooth a development process can run when done in an agile fashion.
This session is targeted at anyone directly or indirectly involved with the Project Management of BI projects or those simply interested in the discipline.
In this session, we will go through agile principles and the difference to traditional project management. After this introduction, we will touch upon the advantages and pitfalls of working with agile in BI projects and examples of everyday success and failures I have experienced in doing so.
I hope you will leave with an understanding of agile and how it could help your projects achieve higher user satisfaction and provide more actual business value and actionable tools for working agile in BI projects in practice.
