Temporal Database - Lessons Learnt
2022TL; DR
Updating lessons learnt for Temporal Data since 2015
Session Details
Having presented a Schema for Temporal Databases at SQL Bits in 2015. Now six years later, we present the results of using this system in both Azure DB and MySQL/MariaDB.
In this session you will get a feel for what went well, where problems are likely to occur and how it has benefited users and system designers.
Benefits include automatic audit trail, protection form malicious users and reporting.
Temporal data is a new thing, it is often misunderstood and implementation and particularly the ongoing update of the system can be an issue. We cover how all these and other issues were addressed and how a fully functional and productive system can be implemented effectively and efficiently at scale.
