Calendar-based Time Intelligence in Power BI
Proposed session for SQLBits 2026TL; DR
In this session you will see how easy it is now in Power Bi to set up anykind of non-gregorian calendars and have standard time-intelligence functions on top of it. Furthermore, you will see how the gregorian-calendar time intelligence gets simplified in terms of DAX.
Session Details
Until September 2025, Time Intelligence in Power BI only supported the Gregorian calendar, leaving to the user the burden of defining non-Gregorian calendars. The calendar-based time intelligence functions have changed this scenario. They have been designed to handle any kind of calendar. In this session several examples will be shown, after a detailed dive into the settings needed to use the functionality.
