Following straight on from Welcome Drinks, end your first day at SQLBits with your favourite board game, presented by the brilliant Cards or Die. Dive into our huge collection of games, ranging from mind-boggling to brain-challenging. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, whether you’re making new friends or relishing the fun with old ones. We’ll be serving food and the bar will be open.

It’s a SQLBits tradition that after the last session of the day, we gather for a prize giving; this includes a winner drawn at random from all feedback received that day, and the daily winners of competitions run on our sponsors’ stands. If your name comes out and you’re not there, we redraw, so make sure to be there for this!

Join our sponsors for drinks on them in the expo hall, as we launch the start of the expo. No need to book, just come along, and stay around for Board Game Night and dinner afterwards.

With interactive games, street food, fancy dress (costume party to our friends across the pond), and of course the bar, this is always a great way to make new friends and spend down time with your colleagues. This year, expect a cartoon theme!

Pub Quiz Night gets an exciting new uplift this year as it is preceded by a fantastic local beer and cider tasting! Hosted on AWS's stand, this is your chance to sample a range of delicious beers and ciders, brewed locally by breweries including Newport based Tiny Rebel and Cardiff based Brains Brewery. Carefully curated tasting portions of classics including Clwb Tropicana, Gwynt Y Ddraig Black Dragon Cider and Barry Island IPA mean you can try a variety of flavours and if there's anything you really like, you can buy a larger serving at the bar. With over 1,500 samples available, it’s the perfect way to kick off a great night of networking and fun. The beer tasting is followed by the ever popular AWS pub quiz. Join new and old friends to make up teams of 10 or less to answer questions, win prizes, and enjoy a fantastic curry. There’s a number of rounds including picture, music and general knowledge, with papers swapped and marked at the end to ensure fairness prevails! The winners will get to select prizes lovingly curated by the SQLBits team and in keeping with the event theme, as well of course, as bragging rights to being AWS Pub Quiz Champions of that year.
