Make Them See - Using Power BI to Create Actionable Insights
2022TL; DR
Stop drowning business users in the useless numbers they ask for and instead give them the insights they actually need.
Session Details
Power BI is called the PowerPoint of data. Unfortunately that also applies to the majority of reports made with Power BI - just like people create terrible slide decks with PowerPoint, people create equally terrible reports with Power BI. There is a difference between showing numbers on a report and conveying actionable insight. When an effort is made to thoroughly understand both the data displayed and the intended audience, when deep thought is put into colors and overall design, and when care is taken in considering the optimal visual for a specific piece of information, then the report is transformed from a set of visuals to actionable insight. Stop drowning business users in the useless numbers they ask for and instead give them the insights they actually need.
This session will cover design best practices, look at why details matter, dive deep into visuals as well as discuss the importance of accessible design - all in order to create clear, concise and actionable insight.
